To join, send a blank e-mail to south_shore_events-subscribe@yahoogroups.ca. You will get an e-mail asking you to confirm that will give you two choices. The first choice is outlined by a box, and lets you join using your Yahoo ID or sign up for a Yahoo ID, which will give you access to certain features which aren't really necessary but kind of cool, including the calendar. The second, in text under the box, is to just join the mailing list. It's your decision which choice to take. The second choice is the simpler one if you don't already have a Yahoo ID. You can always add a Yahoo ID later. You'll know you're on the list when you get a "Welcome" e-mail.
Note that for security reasons, Yahoo makes you verify anything that you sign up for online. This is a good thing, but can be confusing. If you don't get the "Welcome" e-mail, you probably missed a step in the process.
