South Shore Events

— How it came to be

I moved to the South Shore from the Annapolis Valley in 2004. Two years later, I was still hearing about events that I might have liked to attend, but hadn't heard about because I wasn't on someone's e-mailing list.

Years ago, I'd set up an e-mail list to publicize a monthly coffeehouse near Wolfville. Over time, the list grew to 150 members and became a key to the success of many different cultural events. I handed it over to Jasmine Land when I moved to the Mahone Bay area.

I saw the need for something similar here, and set up this list in May, 2006. It has been growing steadily, with several new members every month, and 20-30 messages a month.

On April 16, 2007 there were 132 members.

As of June 2, 2009, there were 192 members.
