Cuckoo Moon evolved in 1997 when Kate
Adams and Cathy Arsenault
decided to bring together their considerable songwriting
and performing experience. Carrie
Harlow had already been performing with Kate, and
added her keen ear, vocal harmonies, and imagination for
vocal arrangement to the group. Heather
Holm joined in 1998, bringing new instrumental dimensions
with accordion and recorder, and another harmony voice.
The quartet focuses on songwriting, harmonies,
and the pure joy of making music. They have performed
at venues from Yarmouth to Bear River to Lunenburg to
Wolfville's Festival Theatre, in the open air at the Lunenburg
Folk Harbour Festival, the Apple Blossom Festival and
Upper Clements Park, and have been featured at Night Kitchen,
Fundy Folk and Harbour Folk in Halifax.
In 2003 they released their
first CD,
Live at Fundy Folk.
